Ann Petersen, MA, LPCC, NCC - Clinical Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor
Thanks for visiting!

My practice:
I work with adults, teens, children, families, and couples.  Working holistically, I consider all aspects of your situation in order to develop an integrated approach:  physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and relational.

My focus is on strengths, what has worked and what blocks you from making the changes you want to make.

I utilize a large array of therapy techniques, tailoring my approach to what best serves the client and helps you achieve your therapy goals. Mindfulness-based therapy is my focus (integrating DBT, MBSR, ACT, and MBCT).  With children, we engage in sand tray and other types of play therapy.  Between sessions, you may wish to work on skills which will help you change and feel better.

Mental health issues in which I have in-depth experience include depression, anxiety, PTSD, complex grief, co-dependency issues, domestic violence, difficult life transitions, ADHD, and behavioral problems. I work closely with parents and their children to develop effective parenting strategies.

My background:

Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, 1998, J.F.Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, California.
